Sheryl Murray has told Radio Cornwall that some of the “abuse” she has been receiving online (that’s you lot) is criminal and she has reported it to the Police.
She told Julia Skeltenbury’s show :
“I’ve been subjected to alot of abuse on social media, some of which the police are actually investigating and one in particular has been confirmed as a criminal offence”

Dedicated Protesters braved the weather today in Liskeard to show their disgust at sitting Tory MP Sheryll Murray, who has been at the centre of a self-inflicted storm of her own – accused of disrepecting democracy and ignoring her local constituents.
Liberal Democrat Phil Hutty, who will be hoping to oust Shameful Sheryll at the next election told the crowd:
“Shut up Sheryll, sit down and listen to your constituents”
He claimed that Sheryll stopped other MPs from being heard and that shows a disregard for the very people she is paid to represent.
Phil Hutty told the crowd : “I think that Parliament is sovereign, it is a place where our voice should be heard, not her voice, our voice”
“Why did she do this? It’s not right. If it’s a good idea it’s a good idea and we should care less about party politics and worry more about what we do for people”
Alfie Hillson, organiser of the protest thanked all those who had taken time to attend. “We’ve come to tell Sheryll exactly what we think of her behaviour. Filibustering is wrong. Her statement that was released over the weekend has done nothing to ease our concerns. The fact that many of you have been blocked shows she cares nothing about her constituent’s genuine concerns”
Lesley Carter of Liskeard Labour told the protesters of Labour’s commitment to disability rights. “It’s fantastic to see so many people out in Liskeard today to tell the government how angry we are and about the change we want to see”
Lance Dyer of Mebyon Kernow reminded the crowd that Shameful Sheryll really made a day of it last Friday, when she also voted in favour of Devonwall. Lance accused her of hypocrisy because she had opposed a cross-border constituency back in 2010 when it affected her own patch but has voted in favour now it’s moved up to North Cornwall.
He said “On both issues, Sheryll has let her constituents down, she has let Cornwall down and in the end, she has let herself down”
Whilst all this was going on outside her office in rainy Liskeard, Shezza was up London keeping warm, launching a strategic rail blueprint to improve her escape to London. “We need this after my journey yesterday” she posted.
“The weather is horrible” said protester Katie Thomas “but that hasn’t stopped us.Anyway it seems kind of apt – Sheryll is cold and miserable too”
Meanwhile #BlockedBySheryll goes on. Shameful Sheryll could come under investigation by Commons authorities for her lack of attention to her constituents. South East Cornwall Lib Dems are looking at raising an official complaint.
“We are currently preparing a complaint about Sheryll Murray MP under clause IV of the Code of Conduct for MPs” a statement on their site said.
“Mrs. Murray has blocked a number of constituents on Facebook and Twitter which goes against the general principles of Accountability and Openness of which she is required to observe.
If you have been blocked by Sheryll Murray on either Facebook or Twitter and would like to add your name to the complaint please contact Charles Boney on firstname.lastname@example.org ”
