More chances to see award winning Cornish feature film – Next screening Porthleven , this Friday
Cinema fans will once again get the opportunity to catch the award-winning feature film Brown Willy over the coming months with a host of screenings coming to intimate Rural venues.
The film, written and directed by Brett Harvey and shot entirely on location on Bodmin Moor, proved a big hit with cinema goers in 2016 with a six week cinema release as well as international screenings in the USA, Australia and Spain. Brown Willy tells the story of two hapless best friends on a stag weekend which goes spectacularly wrong and features strong performances from the two lead actors (Simon Harvey and Ben Dyson) and beautifully captures the rugged majesty of Bodmins Moorland.
“Michael and Pete have been best mates for over 35 years. Michael is about to get married. He doesn’t want a traditional ‘stag do’ and instead opts for a quiet weekend camping on the wilds of Bodmin Moor. Pete, however, has other ideas. After an unexpectedly debauched first night the two men find themselves disorientated and lost. As they attempt to get back to civilization they find themselves in an increasingly desperate battle with the barren terrain, unforgiving environment and… each other”
“Brown Willy is a beautifully shot comedy drama about friendship against the odds, that shows one of Cornwall’s most stunning areas in all its brutal majesty.”
The film will next be shown at Porthleven School on 24th of Feb. Each screening will be attended by one of the film making team who will answer questions.
