Hunt for brazen burglar, St Ives

Police are hunting for a brazen burglar who walked into a St Ives home and stole a woman’s handbag from right in front of her eyes.

The victim was stunned to see the man enter the property in Ayr Lane and simply take the bag from the lounge. He then left through the front door.

The theft happened around 7.30pm on Monday 27 March. The bag was discarded in a nearby street but a purse containing cards and a small amount of cash had been taken.

Police are appealing for information about the burglary and seeking the suspect.

He is described as white, aged in his early 30s and around 5ft 10ins tall. He had short dark combed over hair and was wearing a dark round necked jumper.

It is believed he was with a second man who was waiting outside and they left together in the direction of Bellair Terrace.


Burglary at Wearne’s Jewellers, Helston

  • Gold Rolex wristwatch stolen

Police are seeking witnesses to a burglary from Wearne’s Jewellers, Meneage Street, Helston on Wednesday 29th March 2017.

At around 2.50pm, an unknown man approached the front window of the jewellers, smashed the glass, and reached in and took a Rolex watch from the window display.

The watch is an 18ct gold Rolex day/date type, model 18238 with the serial number E348413

DC Martin Hearn of Helston CID said: “The man has been described as white, approximately 6’ tall with dark, greying hair and stubble. He was wearing thick rimmed glasses, a black leather jacket, blue jeans and white shoes.”

“We would particularly like to hear from anyone who saw a man of this description in the area at the time of the burglary from Wearne’s Jewellers.

“We would also urge anyone to come forward who has been offered for sale a watch like the one that was stolen and are uncertain of where it came from.”

Wanted: David Williams – r.pngBelieved to be in Newquay

Police are seeking the public’s help to trace 28-year-old David Williams from Newquay

David is sought in relation to the breach of a restraining order. Numerous enquiries have been made by police to locate David, and we are now appealing to the public for information about his whereabouts and to report any sightings.

David Williams is believed to be in the Newquay area.  He is described as a white male, 28 years old with short cropped hair and stubble.  He is 5’ 11” tall and of slim build.
