Candy Atherton, 62, dies suddenly

Former Falmouth and Camborne MP Candy Atherton has died suddenly last night.

Candy, 62, was also a councillor for Falmouth Smithwick ward.

The news has been reported by Radio Cornwall this morning.

Candy was instrumental in bringing the University to Falmouth but in recent years campaigned against it’s perceived takeover of the town.
