Probably the Best Little Ale & Music Festival in an idyllic subtropical beer garden over looking the sea around

This weekend: Ale & Anchor Summer Party at The Old Coastguard, Mousehole

Now in its fourth year, (previously known as Sea, Salts & Ales) it’s the small but perfectly formed Ale & Anchor  Festival in Mousehole’s famous Old Coastguard this weekend.

For all ages, with a full schedule of music, acts and two dozen or more Cornish & West Country ales and ciders it’s well worth the trip down west.

Ale & Anchor takes place on the enclosed subtropical lawns of The Old Coastguard with St Michael’s Mount and St Clements Isle as its backdrop. Alongside the foot-stomping music from the best local bands, the Mousehole Male Voice Choir will be performing on the evening of Saturday 1st July.  There will be face painting and performances on the Saturday and Sunday lunchtime from Squashbox Theatre.

Charles Inkin, whose EATDRINKSLEEP company operate of trio of award winning Inns The Old Coastguard, The Gurnard’s Head in Zennor and The Felin Fach Griffin (Wales)  said: “She may be a smaller version of Don’t Wake the Fish at The Gurnard’s Head, but Ale & Anchor punches well above her weight. Having brought date forward to the beginning of the summer rather than the end in September, let’s celebrate the start of the holidays and eat, drink and dance the weekend away.”

It’s a family festival and kids are every bit a pert of the party. There’s a path straight from the beach to the gardens.

The Old Coastguard is located on the seaside of Mousehole, its gardens have uninterupted panoramic views across Mounts Bay and out to the Atlantic. The garden will be covered in areas in case there is bad weather.
