The men who robbed Four Lanes and Stithians Post Offices in one afternoon have both received lengthy jail sentences for their moment of madness.

Matthew Carroll and Rory Jeffery used an imitation firearm in the armed robberies that took place within twenty minutes of each other on Sunday 26th November.

The two men, wearing balaclavas and armed with imitation handguns entered the shops and demanded money before fleeing in a blue hatchback car. Luckily, no one was hurt during these two robberies and an undisclosed amount of cash was stolen from both properties.

Matt Carroll sentenced to 10 years

Matthew Carroll, Aged 31 and from Camborne was jailed for 10 years and eight months by Truro Crown Court on Friday 12 January for two armed robberies and possession of an imitation firearm at Four Lanes and Stithians.

His mate Rory Jeffery aged 40  was sentenced for the same amount of time on the same charges.

Jonathon Taylor, aged 29, from St Clare Street in Penzance has been jailed for 30 months at Truro Crown Court for burglary, attempted burglary and going equipped for burglary.


Dean Bartle aged 30 from Camborne was jailed at Truro Crown Court in Friday 5 January for six years on two counts of attempted robbery





Alexander Hughes, aged 27, of no fixed abode, has been jailed for two years at Truro Crown Court on Tuesday 9 January 2018 for burglary and handling stolen goods.
