Following the departure of Tony Barnett as Group Managing Director of CORSERV last year, Cornwall Council’s Chief Operating Officer has been appointed to the role in an interim capacity.
Cath Robinson will move to the role on 01 March and will remain in the role until the end of year while permanent recruitment action is undertaken.
CORSERV is a publicly owned company established by Cornwall Council to provide strategic direction and oversight for its existing arm’s length and commercial trading companies that include CORMAC Solutions Ltd, Cornwall Airport, Cornwall Housing, Cornwall Development Company and the Nottinghamshire joint venture company, Via East Midlands Limited. Colin Dennis, CORSERV Board Chair said: “Cath has been closely involved with the CORSERV Group of Companies playing a central role in its conception, development and implementation and has acted as the Council’s Shareholder Representative from launch. She has a clear understanding of the Groups objective, activities and financial structure and has already worked closely with the Group’s Board and executives. This knowledge and experience will be critical in building stronger relationships between the Council and the CORSERV Group of Companies.”
Councillor Mike Eathorne-Gibbons, Chair of the CORSERV shareholder board said: “Cath will bring considerable experience and acumen to the role. She fully understands both private sector practice and public sector ethos, providing important focus and stability to the Group as they move forward.”
