Man dies after car hits tree in Penzance

A Penzance man has died following a car accident in Penzance last night.

Police say the black Citreon hit a tree on Wharf Road, near to the entrance of the Harbour car park, just before 8pm. The Air Ambluance was called to the scene but his life could not be saved.  A 67-year-old local man was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The man has not been named so far.

Police are now investigting the circumstances surrounding the incident and are trying to find out just why the car, travelling in the direction of the Railway Station, veered off the road. They would like to hear from any witnesses.
