Low cost airline Ryanair have announced that their popular Newquay to Alicante route is to be run all year round.
The route will run twice weekly as part of its Winter 2018 schedule, and seats will go on sale on the Ryanair.com website next month.
Al Titterington, Managing Director at Cornwall Airport Newquay added:“Winter sun has been a key priority for us for some time and to secure this route year-round is great news for the continued growth of the Airport and for the people of Cornwall.”
The new year round Alicante service will add to the success particularly in the winter for Cornwall’s airport.
The Airport handled 23,937 passengers during December, a whopping 18% increase on the month in 2016.
Passenger numbers at the airport continue to grow and the total in 2017 was over 450,000, the Airport’s busiest year ever. Total numbers for the year have been recorded as 453,795, up 22% on 2016, a number which is likely to see the Airport named “Fastest Growing UK Airport” for the second year running.
Cornwall Airport Limited (CAL) is 100% owned by CORSERV which is a wholly owned company of Cornwall Council. CAL is the operator of Cornwall Airport Newquay.
