Please try again later.×\n  \nFolk rock harmony group performing original and contemporary songs\, lyrically inspired from Cornish life past and present.\nIt’s difficult to find a musical genre that would fully describe The Countrymen\, but Folk Rock Harmony comes close. A five-piece band featuring tight four-part vocal harmony and strong instrumentation. \nPrimarily performing original songs and their own arrangements of lesser-known contemporary folk\, the band’s lyrical inspiration is drawn from life in Cornwall\, the demise of local industries and other rural issues that resonate throughout the country. The Countrymen are accomplished performers\, engaging the audience with light-hearted banter and back-stories to their songs. \nThe Countrymen perform up to 50 live gigs per year including spring and autumn concert tours\, festivals and other folk events. These have previously included Little Orchard Festival\, Rock Oyster Festival\, Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival and Bridport Folk Festival which they headlined this year for the second time. \n“These guys are really entertaining. They’ve been carving out a distinctive identity since 2013: technical virtuosity that stays deeply human\, narrative-driven performance\, and a proven ability to unite a crowd through rhythm and melody. \nTheir sound blends folk motifs and classical precision with driving grooves and full-blooded rock energy. At their core\, they are three musicians on stage\, but with a sound that lands like a much bigger band. Coming hot on the heels of the Cornish tour of Fault Lines with Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra in March 2024. Enchanting music and playful skulduggery against the magical backdrop of the cliffs and sea\, the perfect late summer evening.
