SUMMARY:Community BioBlitz Festival
DESCRIPTION:Get ready for a 24-hour celebration of coastal biodiversity! The Community BioBlitz Festival 2026 will bring together participants for an exciting weekend of species recording\, nature-based activities\, expert-led workshops\, and community engagement. \nThe Community BioBlitz Festival is a part of The Big Rock Pool Challenge. Hosted by the Rock Pool Project in partnership with the Marine Biological Association\, for this event we are not just focusing on rock pool species! Our aim is to survey as much coastal wildlife across coastal habitats as possible\, including insects\, plants\, birds\, and marine mammals. This immersive event is a brilliant opportunity for individuals\, schools\, families and nature groups to learn\, connect and make a difference. \nHighlights of the event include:\n– 24-hour coastal BioBlitz (including a night rock pool session!)\n– Expert-led workshops and talks on wildlife conservation and biodiversity\n– Community hub featuring local partners and groups\n– Fun family activities and games\n– Wellbeing activities promoting a healthy relationship between the community and nature\n– Camping options to stay overnight \nAttendees are welcome to join for the whole 24 hours (on site accommodation is available to book)\, or just come along for part of the event. The event is free to attend\, with several optional add-on activities available for a small fee. \nThe Community BioBlitz Festival is made possible thanks to support from the National Lottery Heritage Fund and the ScottishPower Foundation.
