Published On: 29 October 2024Last Updated: 29 October 2024By

Families in Truro are in for a festive treat this December as Father Christmas returns to the Royal Cornwall Museum for an enchanting storytelling and theatre experience. This annual event, Father Christmas at the Museum, supported by Truro BID and presented by Coppice Theatre, promises a memorable experience filled with storytelling, gifts, and a touch of Cornish folklore.

Meet Father Christmas and Jim the Cornish Knocker

The 45-minute group experience begins with a storytelling session led by Jingle the Elf, setting the scene for children to meet Father Christmas in his Kernow office. Father Christmas will share the tale of Jim the Cornish Knocker, a character with dreams of becoming a North Pole Christmas Elf. Families can even help Jim on his journey to make his dreams come true.

Every child will receive a small gift, and families are welcome to take photos of their children meeting Father Christmas. Afterward, visitors are free to explore the museum’s exhibits to complete their festive outing.

For those requiring step-free access, a lift is available to the museum’s second floor. Prams and buggies can be left at the entrance to ensure a smooth experience. Booking is essential, as space is limited.
