Beware of Suspicious Emails

Cornwall Council has issued a warning about phishing emails targeting individuals registering to vote. The emails appear to request personal documents such as passports or proof of address, raising concerns about identity theft and fraud.

What to Look Out For

These fake emails may come from suspicious addresses like electoral@register-to-vote.electoral.agency. However, Cornwall Council has cautioned that other similar addresses could also be used to trick unsuspecting recipients.

How to Stay Safe

If you receive an email like this, do NOT click on any links. Instead, you can report the email to the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) by visiting their official website: Report a Scam Email.
