Explore the Tin Coast with The National Trust and SWCPA This Monday
In an exciting announcement for outdoor enthusiasts and heritage explorers alike, the National Trust on the Tin Coast, in collaboration with the South West Coast Path Association (SWCPA), is inviting the public to a social walk along the breathtaking Tin Coast. Scheduled for this coming Monday, the 19th of February, participants are set to gather at the Botallack Count House Workshop (postcode TR19 7QQ) at 10:50 am, with the walk commencing at 11 am.
This unique opportunity is free of charge and requires no prior booking, making it accessible to all who are interested and capable of covering the approximately 3.5-mile distance over typical coastpath terrain. The walk is expected to last between 1.5 to 2 hours, promising an engaging and healthy way to start the week.
Organisers assure that the route is well-drained, minimising the chances of mud, though they advise attendees to come prepared with suitable clothing and footwear for the prevailing conditions. The weather forecast predicts a break in the weather, ensuring participants can enjoy the fresh air and scenic views in more comfortable conditions.
The walk is not just about exercise; it offers a fantastic chance to learn about the area’s rich mining heritage and stunning landscapes, thanks to the insights provided by the knowledgeable NT and SWCPA walk leaders. They will handle navigation, allowing walkers to fully immerse themselves in the experience without worry.
After the walk, participants can enjoy the hospitality of the Botallack Count House café, known for its superb coffee and cake, rounding off the event on a delightful note. This social walk represents a perfect blend of physical activity, socialising, and cultural education, set against the backdrop of one of Cornwall’s most iconic coastlines.
