Easter Fun Awaits at Cornwall’s Leisure Centres

Cornwall’s leisure centres are setting the stage for an action-packed Easter holiday, with a host of activities designed to entertain families and boost physical fitness.

Managed by the charitable organisation GLL under the Better brand, nine centres across the region are expanding their offerings to include more swimming, gym sessions, fitness classes, and sports courses tailored for the younger members of the family.

Expanded Swimming Sessions

In an effort to encourage more families to dive into the fun, the leisure centres located in Bude, Saltash, Liskeard, Bodmin, St Austell, Newquay, Truro, Helston, and St Ives are introducing additional swimming pool sessions. A special promotion allows children to enjoy swimming for just £1 before 10am at facilities that include a ‘swim for all’ session in their timetable. Notably, Newquay Leisure World is set to make a splash by reopening its fun pool on Good Friday, complementing its already popular large trampoline park equipped with interactive features.

More Than Just Swimming

But the Easter excitement doesn’t end at the pool edge. The centres are also rolling out extra junior gym sessions, select junior fitness classes, and tennis courses, not to mention intensive swimming lessons for those keen to improve their skills in the water. For a bit of fantasy and fun, St Austell and Newquay will host monster-themed soft play areas, ensuring there’s a bit of Easter magic for everyone.

A Word from the Team

Amelia Kitchen, a Senior Manager with GLL, expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming holiday programmes, highlighting the blend of entertainment and physical activity on offer. “There’s going to be a lot happening to keep everyone active and well entertained,” she said. Amelia also pointed out the benefits for families, noting, “It’s a great opportunity for families to enjoy time together, whilst also improving their physical fitness and sporting skills.”

She encouraged prospective attendees to plan ahead, advising them to book in advance and consult the timetables of individual centres to make the most of the holiday offerings. In a move to make these activities even more accessible, Amelia revealed an enticing offer for local residents: a free pay-as-you-go membership that unlocks significant discounts on a wide range of family-oriented products.
