This May half-term, families are invited to immerse themselves in the wilderness and reconnect with nature at The Lost Gardens of Heligan’s annual Wild Week.

From May 25th to June 2nd, the event promises adventurous outdoor activities and creative play in The Lost Garden of Heligan’s extensive 200-acre landscape.

Explore and Learn

Children and adults alike can participate in an array of sessions designed to sharpen survival skills and encourage outdoor exploration. Under the guidance of Canoe Cornwall, visitors can learn the art of axe throwing or delve into bushcraft essentials. For those fascinated by wildlife, the journey down to the Wildlife Hide reveals the intimate lives of Heligan’s native creatures.

Creative and Playful Endeavours

Apart from high-energy adventures, The Lost Garden of Heligan offers a variety of gentler pursuits. Engage in nature-inspired crafts, take part in a long jump challenge, or watch the excitement of stoat racing. The event also features engaging photographic displays that narrate the story of Heligan’s wild side.

Relax and Reflect

After a day filled with activity, visitors can unwind by a warm campfire, toast marshmallows, and enjoy the stunning views that The Lost Garden of Heligan has to offer. Laura, the Managing Director at Heligan, emphasises the event’s focus on connecting with nature: “Wild Week is once again inspired by The Lost Garden of Heligan’s habitats and inhabitants. We aim to take our visitors on a journey to connect with nature and learn all about how and why these incredible creatures are so important – all whilst having fun! We are looking forward to welcoming the whole family this half-term.”

Accessibility and Booking

Wild Week activities are included with any garden admission, and tickets can be pre-booked at The Lost Garden of Heligan’s website. For families with additional needs, a relaxed session is available from 9am-11am on May 28th, which can be booked through The Lost Garden of Heligan reception.

Admission Information

  • Adult garden admission starts from £24.95.
  • Child garden admission is from £11.
  • A family ticket for two adults and up to three children is available from £65.
