St Ives Town Council Launches Exciting Opportunities for Community-Driven Professionals

St Ives Town Council is on the lookout for two dynamic individuals ready to take on challenging yet rewarding roles within the community.

The council has announced openings for a Youth Engagement & Projects Officer and a Part-Time Receptionist Admin Assistant, each offering a unique opportunity to contribute positively to the town’s development and day-to-day operations.

Youth Engagement & Projects Officer: Shape the Future of St Ives

The position of Youth Engagement & Projects Officer is a pivotal role within the council, offering a salary range of £28,770 to £29,777. This full-time position, initially on a two-year contract with potential for extension, demands 37 hours per week. Candidates seeking flexible work arrangements, such as job sharing, are encouraged to apply.

The selected individual will be based at St Ives Guildhall, although there are options to work from home or other locations within the town. The role is funded through the Town Deal and focuses on ensuring that young people not only benefit from ongoing regeneration projects but also play a more active role in them. The officer will be responsible for coordinating and planning youth activities across the parish, identifying new opportunities for youth projects, and ensuring that the funding has a lasting impact on the younger generation.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about youth work, experienced in community projects, and possess strong communication skills. Creativity and a proven ability to manage projects successfully are also essential.

Part-Time Receptionist and Admin Assistant: The Face of St Ives Guildhall

St Ives Town Council is also seeking a Part-Time Receptionist and Admin Assistant, offering a pro rata salary of £23,500 to £23,893. This role requires a commitment of 22 hours a week, with the council open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

Based at the St Ives Guildhall, the receptionist will be the first point of contact for visitors. The role includes managing daily reception duties, addressing enquiries, and ensuring that visitor interactions are handled efficiently and with courtesy. The successful candidate will be adept with Microsoft Office, a quick thinker, excellent at customer service, and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced environment.
