Motorists are advised to prepare for significant disruptions as a full weekend closure of the A30 is set to take place.
The stretch between Boxheater and Chiverton will be closed from 8pm on Friday, May 17, until 6am on Monday, May 20. This closure is expected to impact numerous travellers across the region, including those using heavy goods vehicles.
Detailed Diversion Routes
During the closure period, all traffic, including HGVs and high sided vehicles, will be rerouted. The designated diversion route will guide vehicles via the B3285 and A3075. Motorists are encouraged to follow the signed diversions and plan additional travel time into their journeys this weekend.
Additional Overnight Closures
In a further announcement, Cornwall Council has also confirmed overnight closures of the A390. This will affect the section between Chiverton and Langarth Park & Ride, commencing Monday, May 20, and continuing until Friday, May 31. The closures will take place nightly from 7pm to 6am.
Travellers using these routes during the specified times should anticipate delays and disruptions. Adjusting travel plans and considering alternative routes or travel times may help in avoiding significant inconvenience.
Planning Ahead
With these closures in place, significant traffic delays can be expected. Residents and visitors to the area are advised to stay informed on traffic updates and plan their travels accordingly to avoid being caught unprepared. Stay tuned to local traffic news for any further updates or changes to the current travel advisories.
As the project progresses, further information, including future closure dates and diversion routes, will be made available through the National Highways website, ensuring the public remains informed and prepared for upcoming travel adjustments.
