Driving Directions:

• From Wadebridge:
  • Take the A39 westbound.
  • After approximately 3 miles, turn right onto the A389 towards Padstow.
  • Continue on the A389, passing through Little Petherick.
  • At the junction after Little Petherick, turn right to stay on the A389 to Padstow.
  • Approaching Padstow, turn left onto the B3276, signposted to Harlyn Bay and Trevone.
  • Follow the B3276 for several miles until you reach a right turn for Harlyn Bay.
  • Proceed down this road to the beach.
• From the A30:
  • Exit onto the A39 at the Highgate Hill roundabout near Indian Queens.
  • Continue north on the A39 to the Winnards Perch roundabout.
  • Turn left onto the B3274, signposted to Padstow.
  • This road becomes the A389; continue towards Padstow.
  • Before entering Padstow, turn left onto the B3276 towards Harlyn Bay and Trevone.
  • Continue on the B3276 until you see the right turn for Harlyn Bay.
  • Follow this road directly to the beach.

Parking:

There is a car park adjacent to the beach and an additional large field car park opposite. Please be aware that parking charges apply from the moment you enter until you leave, and it's advisable to purchase a ticket covering the entire duration of your stay. Retain your parking ticket for at least six months in case you need to challenge any fines.

Harlyn Bay Beach is considered one of the best family beaches in Cornwall, offering a wide, sheltered expanse of golden sand and pebbles, backed by dunes. It's popular with families, kayakers, and novice surfers, with lifeguard services available during the summer months.

Dogs are allowed on the beach year-round, making it a pet-friendly destination.

Public toilets are available near the car park area, with additional facilities towards the village centre. Please note that toilets are closed during dusk.

Always check tide times before your visit, as high tide can cover the entire beach, and certain sections may be dangerous during spring tides combined with larger waves.
