What Sparked the Fires on Bodmin Moor? Police Appeal for Clues
Detectives urge public to come forward after multiple fires and road closure
Detectives are appealing for information following a series of fires reported on Bodmin Moor on the evening of Saturday 5th April.
Emergency services were alerted at around 9.15pm after fires were seen in the area of Dozmary Pool, Millpool, and Colliford Lake.
Firefighters Worked Through the Night
The Fire Service battled the blazes into the early hours to bring them under control. Due to smoke drifting from the moor, the A30 was temporarily closed at Bolventor as a safety precaution.
Cause Unknown, Police Need Help
The cause of the fires is currently unknown. Detectives investigating the incident are asking for anyone with information that could help to get in touch.
If you saw anything suspicious or have details that could assist, information can be reported by calling 101 or via the Devon & Cornwall Police website quoting log 869 of 5 April.
