Falmouth will mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day with a full day of events to honour the town’s WWII history and bring the community together.
Highlights include:

9am – Official VE Day flag-raising on The Moor

11am – Commemorative service & wreath laying at Kimberley Park Memorial Garden

From 10am to 10pm – Free entry to Pendennis Castle, with a day of family-friendly activities, WWII displays, educational talks and guided tours

11am–4.30pm – Explore exhibits like Beauty is Your Duty and Dig for Victory, enjoy a wartime-inspired menu, or share your own family stories of the era

Evening – Live music and choir performances at the Castle, leading to a beacon lighting ceremony at 9.30pm, as part of a nationwide act of remembrance
