RNLI Seeks Volunteers for Falmouth Sea Shanty Festival Collections
Volunteer for just 2 hours and enjoy the music-fuelled weekend in Falmouth
The RNLI has been named the official charity of this year’s Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival, which kicks off tomorrow and runs from Friday 13th to Sunday 15th June 2025.
As part of the weekend, the team is calling for volunteers to help collect donations around the town in support of the Falmouth lifeboat and the RNLI in Cornwall. Everyone who gives up just two hours of their time will be rewarded with a traditional Cornish pasty and a drink, giving them the perfect set-up to enjoy the dozens of shanty groups performing across Falmouth.
Friendly competition and festival atmosphere
It’s not just about raising money – there’s a prize up for grabs too. The team of two that collects the most will win a “fantastic prize”, adding a bit of friendly competition to the cause.
Each volunteer will be provided with a collection bucket, RNLI tabard, and clear instructions. Contactless card machines will also be available to help boost donations. Volunteers will collect and return their buckets from a central location in the town and will work in pairs at different busy festival spots.
If you’re planning to spend the whole day soaking up the music, or even the full weekend, you’re welcome to sign up for multiple shifts.
