Free fun, family-friendly activities and a touch of sparkle in Redruth

Cornwall Gold is offering a packed summer of free activities and family experiences once again this year, with something to discover for all ages at the popular Redruth attraction.

Step Inside Cornwall’s Tin Milling History

At the heart of the site is the historic Grade II Listed Tolgus Mill. Visitors can explore the last tin streaming mill in Europe by following a brand-new route through the building. Entry to the mill is free, and guided tours are running throughout the summer to help bring the story of Cornish tin milling to life.

Also free to enjoy is the interactive Tolgus Mill exhibition, where you can learn more about Cornwall’s industrial past and even try your hand at panning for gold.

Outdoor Dining and Local Food

The on-site café, The Pantry, has updated its summer menu for 2025 with locally sourced dishes and family favourites. New outdoor seating has been added, giving families the chance to enjoy a relaxed meal al fresco while the children play on the grass by the Tolgus stream.

Pick a Diamond for Just £5

The biggest draw this summer has been the new Pick a Diamond activity. For just £5 per person, visitors can take part in a fun and unique experience where they might uncover a genuine diamond worth up to £200. This activity is proving extremely popular with visitors of all ages.
