BID Camborne Signs Information Sharing Agreement with Police

BID Camborne and Police Join Forces

An official information sharing agreement has been signed between Camborne’s Business Improvement District (BID) team and Devon & Cornwall Police to help reduce crime in the town centre.

BID Camborne introduced the app-based DISC system last year so member businesses could report local crime and alert others to potential offenders.

Record Engagement and Results

Known as BID:BIS, the Camborne Business Intelligence Scheme has achieved record levels of engagement and resulting convictions since its launch in October 2024.

The newly signed agreement will increase the amount of information that can be shared on a case-by-case basis, such as identifying individuals who have received an anti-social behaviour order.

A “Great Milestone” for Town Safety

“We’ve been working on this agreement with DISC and the police over the last few months and are delighted that the final version has now been signed,” said BID Camborne Manager Anna Pascoe.

“It’s another great milestone in the fight against local crime, with BID, member businesses and the police using BID:BIS to effectively collaborate.

“Business livelihoods are damaged by indiscriminate offending and BID directors are determined to lead the way in ensuring town safety.

“That’s why this information sharing agreement is so important and why DISC is proving such a successful crime deterrent.”
