Coodes Solicitors’ Mel Grose Shortlisted for National Legal Award
Coodes Solicitors is celebrating after Head of Personal Disputes, Mel Grose, was shortlisted for Contentious Practitioner of the Year at the prestigious British Wills & Probate Awards 2025.
The nomination places Mel among the UK's top legal professionals in this area, recognising her expertise, client care and leadership within one of the fastest-growing departments at the South West law firm.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony in Manchester on 9th October.
A Career Built on Client Care
Mel joined Coodes in 2014 and is now a Partner leading a thriving team specialising in disputes over wills and inheritance matters. Her work includes challenging or defending the validity of wills, helping those who feel they have not been adequately provided for, and dealing with disputes involving attorneys or personal representatives accused of fraud or financial abuse.
She frequently represents clients at mediations and in the High Court and Court of Appeal, but her focus is always on achieving the best resolution for clients.
Growth and National Recognition
In the last five years, the Inheritance and Trusts Disputes team has played a key role in Coodes' growth into an £11 million-plus business, placing the firm among the top four per cent of UK law firms by turnover.
The department is now nationally recognised for delivering excellent outcomes in emotionally charged cases, which often involve loss and complex family dynamics.
