Partial Closure Order Granted on Bude Property After Antisocial Behaviour Reports
A property in Bude has been hit with a three-month partial closure order after repeated reports of antisocial behaviour.
The order, granted on 12th August at Bodmin Magistrates Court under Section 80 of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime & Policing Act, makes it an offence for anyone other than the residents named on the order to enter the premises.
Community Concerns Spark Action
The closure follows numerous complaints from the community about suspected drug dealing, constant visitors at all hours, noise disturbances, criminal damage and violent incidents.
Inspector Greg Hodgkiss, who leads local policing in North Cornwall, said:
“I’d like to make it clear that North Cornwall remains a safe place to live in the UK, but where crime and antisocial behaviour does take place, we will deal with it robustly.
“It was important we took action to protect the wellbeing and livelihoods of the local community and put a stop to this repeated behaviour.
“Whilst only temporary, our officers will continue to work with the residents and the public to prevent further offences from taking place in and around the address.”
Warning to Others
Inspector Hodgkiss added:
“If you’re experiencing similar incidents where you live – please report it. If you don’t tell us, we can’t do anything to tackle it. Thank you.”
Breaching the order could lead to criminal prosecution.
Wider Crackdown on Antisocial Behaviour
This latest order is part of a wider strategy to address antisocial behaviour and crime across the area. It follows two similar closure orders served in June at separate addresses in North Cornwall. Officers are also continuing targeted patrols and operations.
