Oddfellows Announce September Friendship Events in Cornwall

The Plymouth & Truro District Oddfellows is inviting people in Cornwall and Plymouth to come together this September 2025 for Friendship Month, a nationwide celebration of connection and companionship.

With everything from guest talks and heritage tours to coffee mornings, yoga and social lunches, the Oddfellows have planned a variety of events across Redruth, Truro and Plymouth. Each event is open to everyone, with a warm welcome promised.

Peter English, District Secretary for Plymouth & Truro Oddfellows, said:

"Friendship Month is about bringing people together and showing that friendship has the power to improve lives. Whether it's sharing stories, learning something new, or simply enjoying a coffee and a chat, there's something for everyone at our Oddfellows events – and a very warm welcome for newcomers."

Highlights in Redruth, Truro and Plymouth

  • Redruth Friendship Group – 2nd Sept, 2pm, Oddfellows Hall, Green Lane, TR15 1LL: A talk from a member of the International Police Association with stories from a career in the USA and beyond, plus a police badge collection on display. Refreshments and raffle included. Contact Pete.

  • Coffee & Chat, Plymouth – 3rd Sept, 10.30am, Mollies Coffee Shop, Plympton: A relaxed morning for friendly conversation. Contact Brenda.

  • Truro Friendship Group – 3rd Sept, 2pm, Kea Community Centre, Playing Place: Launch of a new venue with a lively beetle drive, plus refreshments and raffle. Contact Pete.

  • Plymouth Lodge and Friendship Group – 4th Sept, from 10.30am, St Budeaux Community Centre: Morning meeting, lunch and afternoon social. Contact Pete or Brenda.

  • Half-Yearly Meeting, Redruth – 6th Sept, 12 noon, Oddfellows Hall: District business reports followed by a fish and chip lunch (booking required). Contact Pete.

  • Chair Yoga, Redruth – 15th Sept, 10.30am, Oddfellows Hall: Gentle session with instructor Chrissie. Members free, guests donate to charity. Contact Pete.

  • Naval Heritage Centre Tour, Plymouth – 17th Sept, 10.30am, Devonport Naval Heritage Centre: Free guided tour of one of the region's historic treasures (booking essential). Contact Brenda.

  • Cornubian Oddfellows Lodge, Redruth – 19th Sept, 7.30pm, Oddfellows Hall: Ceremonial meeting followed by cheese, wine and refreshments. Contact Pete.

  • East Cornwall & Plymouth Sunday Lunch Group – Members gather every six weeks at different local venues. Contact Pete or Brenda.
