Closure Order Served on Property in Troon Following Reports of Antisocial Behaviour
A property on Fore Street in Troon has been closed following reports of suspected drug dealing, drug taking, and noise disturbances.
Earlier this week, officers from Camborne, Pool and Redruth Police, along with Cornwall Council’s Anti-Social Behaviour Officer Kay Smith, served a closure order at the address.
Three-Month Closure in Place
The order, granted by the court, now makes it an offence for anyone to enter the property for the next three months.
Police say the action followed numerous reports of people visiting the address at all hours of the day and night, causing disruption and concern for nearby residents.
Tenants Offered Support
Those affected by the order have been signposted to relevant support services while the closure remains in place.
Inspector Lou Brown said:
“Decisions to obtain these orders are never our first choice – we’ll always do our best to work with the owners and/or tenants to solve the issues before we escalate our response.
“The impact this behaviour was having on local residents was significant and we needed to take action to keep our community safe.”
Police have encouraged residents to continue reporting antisocial behaviour in their area, assuring the public that they are listening and taking action.
