New Oddfellows Sunday Lunch Group Launches in West Cornwall
A new Sunday Lunch Group has officially launched in West Cornwall, welcoming members of the Oddfellows Friendly Society and their guests for an afternoon of good food and great company.
Bringing People Together Over Roast Dinners
Inspired by the long-running success of a similar group in Plymouth and South East Cornwall, the new gathering aims to foster friendship and connection in the local community.
The group’s first meeting took place at the popular St. Michael’s Mount Inn in Barripper, near Camborne, where attendees enjoyed a hearty roast dinner with all the trimmings and plenty of lively conversation.
At the end of the meal, Bill, representing the Plymouth and Truro Oddfellows, offered heartfelt thanks to member Jan for organising the event.
“Jan has done a wonderful job bringing us all together today,” Bill said. “It’s this kind of community spirit that makes Oddfellows so special. We’re already looking forward to the next one.”
Bill then presented Jan with a bouquet of flowers, which was met with a round of applause from the group.
The next Sunday Lunch, set to take place at a different venue, is scheduled for late November and promises another welcoming and enjoyable afternoon.
