Cornwall Members Join Celebration of Friendship at National Oddfellows Luncheon
Gathering of Fellowship in Burton-on-Trent
District Officers from the Plymouth and Truro District Oddfellows travelled to Burton-on-Trent this month after being invited to attend the Burton-on-Trent District’s Annual Oddfellows Luncheon. The event took place at the magnificent Oddfellows Hall in the heart of the town.
The luncheon brought together a large gathering of friends and members from across the country, who enjoyed a four-course meal accompanied by fine wines in a warm and convivial atmosphere.
Among the guests was the Grand Master of the Order, Brother John Mann, who served as the principal speaker. Brother Martin Greenway, Past Provincial Grand Master, responded on behalf of the guests and visitors.
Representatives from ten Districts joined members of the Burton-on-Trent District to celebrate friendship and fellowship. The afternoon proved both enjoyable and meaningful, with hundreds of pounds raised for local health charities.
A Warm Welcome from Burton-on-Trent
Reflecting on the event, Sister Tina English from Redruth, Provincial Grand Master of the Plymouth and Truro District, said:
“The incredibly warm welcome, the wonderful company, the renewal of warm friendships, and the beautifully prepared dishes made our long journey worthwhile. We are always grateful to spend time with our dear friends from Burton-on-Trent, and the added bonus is meeting members from across the country. It truly makes this annual luncheon an occasion to be thoroughly enjoyed. We are very grateful to everyone at Burton for all they do to make this event the special gathering that it is.”
