Dogs Make a Splash at Jubilee Pool’s Annual Penzance Swim
It was tails up in Penzance on Sunday 2nd November as Jubilee Pool hosted its seventh annual Dog Day, turning the Art Deco lido into a paradise for pups and their owners.
Four-Legged Fun in the Water
The popular event saw dogs of all shapes and sizes taking to the water, with some diving straight into the deep end while others needed a little encouragement from their wetsuit-clad humans. Despite the chill in the air on the final day of Half Term, the atmosphere was full of energy and wagging tails.
Support from Penzance Council
Penzance Council continues to play a key role in supporting the community facility, allocating £40,000 in funding for this financial year. The funding will help with the pool’s winter maintenance, subsidised entry for adults living in the parish, and the continuation of the PZ Under 16s Free Swim scheme, which provides free access to the pool for all under 16s in the Penzance Parish.
What’s Next for Jubilee Pool
After Sunday’s Dog Day, the pool will undergo its annual deep clean before reopening on Wednesday 12th November for the start of the Winter Cold Water Swim Sessions, welcoming hardy swimmers back to the water.
