Discover Cornwall Through Art: New Exhibition Opens at Bodmin Jail

A new collaboration between Bodmin Jail and Bodmin Creative Studio is bringing Cornwall’s creative spirit to life inside the Moor Café.

Art on the Moors

Titled Art on the Moors, the first installation is now live, transforming the café into a vibrant showcase of local creativity. The collection, curated by Bodmin Creative Studio, features artwork from Cornwall’s most talented artists, each piece capturing the region’s rugged coastlines, windswept moorland, and everyday Cornish life.

“We’re thrilled to celebrate the region’s artistic spirit within the unique setting of Bodmin Jail,” said Jess Marlton, GM at Bodmin Jail. “The Moor Café has always been a place for people to relax and reflect, now it’s also a space to discover the creativity that defines Cornwall.”

Supporting Local Talent

The exhibition is part of Bodmin Jail’s ongoing commitment to support local artists and enhance visitor experiences. All displayed artworks are available to purchase directly through Bodmin Creative Studio, giving visitors the chance to take home a piece of Cornwall’s artistic heritage.

Open to All

The Moor Café is open all year round and welcomes everyone, not just those visiting the attraction. It’s described as the perfect spot for both locals and travellers to enjoy good food, great coffee, and now, art inspired by the wild heart of Cornwall.
