£70k Drug Seizure in Camborne Leads to Arrest and Charges

Large Quantity of Drugs Recovered

On 5th November, officers from Camborne Neighbourhood Team, supported by other departments, executed a Misuse of Drugs Act warrant in Camborne. The operation led to the recovery of drugs with a street value of more than £70,000.

That same evening, Leo Hook was charged with possession with intent to supply cocaine and ketamine, as well as money laundering.

Community Intelligence Key to Operation

Police said the warrant followed information provided by the community. They explained that obtaining a warrant is not a quick process and requires an application through a Magistrates Court, supported by sufficient intelligence, usually from more than one source.

A spokesperson said:

“Getting a warrant is not a quick process and needs to be applied for through a Magistrates Court, when there is enough intelligence from usually more than one source. This is why sometimes, it feels like we do not act immediately (or at all) when it is believed there is drug dealing happening from addresses.”

They added:

“We hope that this outcome shows that we are proactively disrupting drugs networks and utilising the information that is passed to us to make our neighbourhoods safer. Thank you for your help.”
