Candles to Shine Bright at Truro Cathedral for Cornwall Hospice Care’s Light Up a Life Service

Published On: 9 November 2025Last Updated: 9 November 2025By

Cornwall Hospice Care will host its annual Light Up a Life service on Sunday, 7th December 2025, offering a moment of reflection, remembrance, and togetherness at Truro Cathedral. The service begins at 7pm and will include music, readings and carols, creating a comforting space to honour loved ones who are no longer with us.

A Moment to Remember

During the evening, candles will be lit in memory of those held dear, filling the cathedral with a warm, gentle light symbolising enduring love. Books of Remembrance featuring the names of loved ones will be displayed at Truro Cathedral, St Julia’s Hospice, and Mount Edgcumbe Hospice, as well as online.

To include a name in the Books of Remembrance, people are invited to make a dedication using the link shared in Cornwall Hospice Care’s post.

Dedications and Donations

Dedications can be made alongside a one-off or annual donation. Annual recurring gifts can be set up to ensure names are included each year, with collections made on 1st November. These contributions help Cornwall Hospice Care plan for the future.

A Touching Tribute

During the service, a Dedication Film will be shown, projecting the names of loved ones in light as part of a moving tribute. The Books of Remembrance held at Truro Cathedral will also be brought forward to be blessed and available to view after the service.

An online version of the Books of Remembrance will be available to view from Sunday, 7th December.
