China Fleet Country Club Wins Two Awards at Cornwall Tourism Awards
China Fleet Country Club is celebrating after taking home two awards at the Cornwall Tourism Awards 2025, marking a major moment for the Saltash based destination.
Double Success in Truro
The ceremony, held at Truro Cathedral and hosted by broadcaster and journalist Daphne Skinnard, recognised stand-out performers in Cornwall’s hospitality and tourism sector.
China Fleet Country Club was named a Bronze winner in the Regenerative Tourism Award, sponsored by the Eden Project, and secured Gold in the Business Events Venue of the Year category, sponsored by ADA Cosmetics.
Recognition for Investment and Sustainability
The Club described the awards as a result of long-term investment aimed at creating a year-round destination for fitness, leisure, wellness and business.
Dean Bennett, Managing Director of China Fleet Country Club, said:
“This is a moment of immense pride for everyone involved with China Fleet Country Club. To win not one, but two such significant awards, underscores our unwavering commitment to sustainable growth and our community.”
Dean added:
“Our success tonight is a direct result of our continued, significant investment into the Club’s facilities, including our solar-powered initiatives and our state-of-the-art facilities. We are proud to employ local people, honour our military heritage, and provide a truly exceptional experience that contributes positively to Cornwall’s future.”
The Regenerative Tourism Award recognised the Club’s focus on sustainability, which includes investment in green solar energy to reduce its operational footprint and its Gold accreditation from Green Tourism. This work supports the preservation of the Tamar Valley’s natural environment.
Gold for Business Events
Winning Business Events Venue of the Year highlights the Club’s non-seasonal commercial strategy. Its modern and adaptable spaces cater to the Plymouth and Devon commuter market and offer facilities suited to conferences, retreats and business events.
The Club recently expanded its business offering with the launch of a new co-working area featuring desks, meeting rooms and relaxation spaces.
Strong Military Links
Owned by the military charity China Fleet Trust, the Club maintains close ties to the Armed Forces and employs many ex-serving personnel and military spouses. Its success reinforces its role as a key employer and a leading destination for both Cornish staycations and day trips from Devon.
