A local distribution company has helped rescue a huge donation of pet food destined for charities across Cornwall, after The Cinnamon Trust found themselves with nowhere to store it.

A Mountain of Food and Nowhere to Put It

The Cinnamon Trust, based in Hayle, received an offer of 2,100kg of cat and dog food from their Big Walk sponsors, Natures Menu. The donation, weighing the same as four elephants and packed onto 13 pallets, was intended for the charity’s sanctuaries, Cornish pet charities and nearby pet food banks.

But there was a problem. The Trust simply didn’t have the capacity to hold such a large delivery. Most storage facilities were unable to help because the goods were perishable, leaving the team unsure of how to stop the donation going to waste.

St Ives Food and Drink Steps Forward

That’s when St Ives Food and Drink stepped in. The local company cleared space in their warehouse and agreed to store the entire delivery at no cost.

Their support means the Natures Menu donation will reach pets who need it most. The food will help sanctuary animals and support local pets through the winter months, reducing waste and easing pressure on charities.

A Boost for Pets Across Cornwall

Thanks to this gesture, thousands of meals will now make it to pets who rely on the help of The Cinnamon Trust and other local groups. It’s a reminder of how local businesses can play a vital role in keeping community support moving when it matters.
