Is Cornwall About To Dominate 2026 Staycations? New Report Reveals Top UK Spots
A new study from Parkdean Resorts has named Cornwall as the most popular staycation destination for 2026, just as interest in UK breaks surges ahead of Black Friday.
Brits appear to be shifting closer to home for their holidays, with 75 percent planning an overnight trip in the UK in the next year. Searches for a UK trip have risen by 115 percent in the last quarter, reaching 641,000 in the past month alone.
Parkdean Resorts has looked at Google searches, Instagram hashtags and TikTok volumes to reveal the top five UK destinations set to be most in demand for 2026.
Cornwall Takes the Top Spot
Cornwall ranks number one with 46,000 monthly Google searches and more than 96,000 Instagram posts linked to holidays in the county. With a total index score of 60.2, Parkdean Resorts says the region’s coastlines continue to be a major draw for UK holidaymakers.
York Comes In Second
York lands in second place with 226,000 monthly Google searches and a total rating of 59.2. Parkdean Resorts highlights its Roman roots, medieval streets and York Minster as part of its appeal. Visitors can enjoy everything from afternoon tea in The Shambles to walks along the historic walls.
London Holds Third Place
London sits in the middle of the ranking at number three. The capital sees more than 202,000 holiday related Google searches each month, continuing to attract people looking for culture, entertainment and dining.
Norfolk Takes Fourth
Norfolk places fourth with an overall score of 20.4. It sees over 32,000 Google searches a month and remains known for its seaside, the Norfolk Broads and countryside escapes.
Wales Completes the Top Five
Wales rounds off the list with a score of 19.7 and more than 50,000 monthly Google searches. Parkdean Resorts describes it as a rising destination for 2026, offering tranquil landscapes and coastal scenery.
Black Friday Deals for 2026 Bookings
Parkdean Resorts’ Black Friday sale runs from Thursday 20th November to Monday 1st December. The company says now is the ideal moment to secure a 2026 break.
A spokesperson at Parkdean Resorts said:
“Booking your 2026 break now makes a lot of sense. Black Friday deals offer a great opportunity to save a significant amount on your next UK break, and by booking ahead of time, you’ll have more time to plan and save up some spending money.
“A staycation can also make for an excellent Christmas gift for loved ones, plus you’ll be able to tag along too and spend some quality time with family and friends.
“There’s lots of availability for 2026 holidays at the moment, but if you leave your booking to the last minute, you risk your first choice of destination or accommodation selling out, and may end up paying more when prices peak.”
