A festive gathering at the Penventon Park Hotel brought together Oddfellows members from across Cornwall and Plymouth for the Plymouth and Truro District Provincial Grand Master’s Luncheon.

A Memorable Afternoon in Redruth

The event was hosted by Plymouth and Truro District Provincial Grand Master Tina English, who organised the luncheon and welcomed guests to the Penventon’s warm and elegant setting. Among those attending were Burton on Trent Oddfellows Provincial Deputy Grand Master Brother Aaron Mountford, Provincial Corresponding Secretary Brother Mervyn Eaton MSJ, and Sister Amanda Mountford.

The group enjoyed a meal accompanied by fine wines, making the luncheon one of the highlights of the Oddfellows social calendar.

Thanks for a Year of Service

The afternoon also gave Tina the chance to thank Immediate Past Provincial Grand Master Bill Cook for his work over the past year. She praised Bill for his hospitality, including welcoming members into his home during their travels. Bill was presented with port and a selection of cheeses, described as his favourites.

A Busy Season Ahead

The luncheon marks the start of a full calendar of Oddfellows activities. Upcoming events include informal lunches in Cornwall and Plymouth, the annual Christmas luncheon, friendship group meet ups, yoga classes and several ceremonial occasions.

In her welcome to everyone attending, Tina said:

“The Oddfellows is not just an organisation, it’s a family. A place where friendship, support, and joy are shared among all. Let’s continue to strengthen these bonds and make memories that last a lifetime.”
