Freestyle Star Jay Rosa Performs at Truro City for Mental Health Tour
A Standout Visit at Truro City FC
Supporters at Truro City FC were treated to a lively evening as professional football freestyler Jay Rosa brought energy and purpose to the club during his nationwide mental health awareness tour.
Jay has been travelling the country since January 2023 with one clear mission: to perform at all 116 professional stadiums across the National League, EFL, and Premier League while raising awareness for Mind Charity and encouraging open conversations about mental health in football. His tour blends skill, entertainment, and a strong message that has been connecting fans and clubs nationwide.
Freestyle, Conversation and Crowd Interaction
At Truro City, Jay started the night in the WAX Marquee during the club sponsors’ pre-match event. He performed a live freestyle set and took part in an in-depth interview about his 116 stadium challenge, sharing the purpose behind the tour. Guests were able to meet him, and Jay spent time teaching supporters of all ages some basic freestyle techniques.
The momentum continued at half-time when Jay stepped out into the centre circle to perform for more than 2,200 spectators. His routine featured intricate tricks, quick footwork and crowd-focused moments that drew applause from the stands.
Staying to Connect with Supporters
Jay remained after the match to sign autographs, take photos and work directly with younger fans on freestyle skills. This personal approach is central to the tour, which is about using football to inspire, connect and spark important conversations about mental wellbeing.
Jay said: “This tour is about more than just football. It’s about connection, awareness, and reminding people they’re not alone. If showcasing my passion on the pitch helps even one person feel seen, heard, or inspired to seek support then every mile, every performance, is worth it.”
Reaching Fans Across the Country
With more than 100,000 social media followers, Jay’s journey has gained national attention, appearing across news outlets, club websites, live broadcasts and radio interviews. Clubs including Fulham, Brighton and Swansea City have supported his appearances as he continues working towards completing all 116 stadiums.
Supporters can follow @jayrosa1_ on social media to track his progress and support his mental health fundraising or donate directly through his JustGiving page.
Jay’s visit to Truro City serves as a reminder of how football can bring people together and highlight conversations that matter, both on and off the pitch.
