Are You Next? Police Warn of Car Door Checks in Camborne
Camborne, Pool and Redruth Police have urged people to lock their vehicles after more reports of someone trying car door handles and stealing items in the Camborne area.
Police Respond to Fresh Reports
In a message shared on Sunday 30th November 2025, officers confirmed they have received further reports of vehicle door checks. They also noted that they are aware of posts circulating on Facebook, but stressed that they can only investigate crimes that are reported directly to them.
The statement said:
“We have had more reports in the Camborne area of someone trying vehicle door handles and stealing items.”
“We are aware of some reports on Facebook. We can only investigate crime if it is reported to us directly. The more reports we have, the more offences we can potentially charge the individual(s) for and the greater the sentence at court.”
Police Ask People to Report Every Incident
Officers encouraged anyone affected to contact them through the usual channels. Reports can be made by calling 101 or by emailing through the police contact page at the Devon and Cornwall Police website.
Anyone experiencing an emergency or witnessing a crime in progress should call 999.
The reminder concluded with a simple warning: lock your car doors and avoid leaving valuables inside.
