Drone Show in Falmouth Cancelled Due to Technical Issues

The drone show planned for this Friday in Falmouth has been cancelled after the operator uncovered technical problems during final checks.

What Went Wrong

According to the Falmouth Town Team, the company responsible for delivering the display found a fault with the compass modules in several drones. Tests earlier in the week showed issues, but the operator reported that the fault had worsened in more recent trials.

Despite attempts to fix the problem, the company confirmed it could not be resolved in time for this weekend’s event. They explained that while there was no risk to public safety, there was a real chance the show itself could have been disrupted by drones malfunctioning mid-display. To avoid a disappointing experience, the decision was made to cancel.

The Town Team said they understand this will be disappointing news, adding that they support the decision as it prioritises quality and the experience for the public.

Planned Return in the New Year

The drone operator has confirmed it is now working with manufacturers to replace the faulty components. The intention is to return to Falmouth in the New Year to deliver a series of future shows.

Festive Weekend Still Going Ahead

While the drone display will not take place, the rest of the festive weekend in Falmouth remains unchanged.
