Marhamchurch Pupils Host Creative Exhibition at School
Marhamchurch Pupils Showcase Bold Creativity
Children at Marhamchurch C of E Academy have turned their classrooms into a colourful exhibition, sharing an impressive mix of art and design projects with their families.
The school, which is part of the Learning Academy Partnership, sets pupils an open ended project each term to encourage curiosity, independence and imaginative thinking. This term they explored photography inspired by Mika Ninagawa, the Japanese photographer known for her vivid images of flowers, goldfish and landscapes. Pupils also experimented with expressive charcoal drawings in the style of artist Valerie Davide.
Art, Science and Architecture on Display
Alongside the artwork, pupils built detailed models of the solar system and recreated well known structures from around the world. Their models included the Eiffel Tower, the leaning tower of Pisa and a selection of famous bridges.
To celebrate the work, parents were invited into the school for a gallery style showcase. Classrooms were rearranged as exhibition spaces, allowing families to wander through displays and talk to the children about their ideas and creative choices.
A Celebration of Learning
Headteacher Deirdre Petersen said:
“Seeing our school transformed into a gallery filled with such imaginative and thoughtful work has been a real joy. Our pupils have shown incredible creativity and independence, and we are so proud of the way they have embraced each project.”
Learning Academy Partnership CEO Tracey Cleverly added:
“These projects are a wonderful example of what happens when children are encouraged to explore ideas and take pride in their achievements. The enthusiasm shown by pupils, staff and families at Marhamchurch reflects the strength of the school community and our shared ambition to give every child the opportunity to thrive.”
The event reinforced the school’s focus on meaningful, creative learning that links home and classroom life while helping pupils grow in confidence and curiosity.
