Members of the Plymouth and Truro District Oddfellows gathered at the Penventon Hotel in Redruth for their annual Christmas lunch, bringing friends together for an afternoon of festive food, warm conversation and reflection.

A Festive Afternoon in Redruth

The event began with pre-lunch drinks in the hotel bar, where members caught up in a relaxed setting before moving into the decorated dining room. Guests enjoyed a two course meal followed by mince pies and coffee, with Christmas crackers adding to the cheerful atmosphere.

The gathering gave members the chance to reconnect, share stories from the past year and look ahead to the next.

Tina English Shares Her Thanks

Provincial Grand Master (District Chairman) Tina English addressed the room with a message of gratitude and appreciation, recognising the efforts of members who had supported activities throughout the year.

Tina said, “This is such a wonderful occasion to come together and celebrate the many benefits of our membership. I want to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for your contributions and the support you’ve shown throughout the year. Your efforts have made this a memorable and successful year and I am so proud of everything we’ve accomplished together.”

She added, “As we move into the New Year, let us remember that the Oddfellows is not just about social events, it’s about the friendship, support and care we offer one another, every single day. I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and I look forward to another year of shared experiences and continuing our work in service to each other. We are always here for you.”

The afternoon ended on a positive note, with members looking forward to another year of companionship and shared support.
