Oddfellows Members Celebrate Christmas at Redruth Social Evening

Published On: 22 December 2025Last Updated: 22 December 2025By

Members of the Plymouth and Truro District of the Oddfellows Friendly Society came together for a pre Christmas social evening at Oddfellows Hall on Green Lane in Redruth.

The seasonal get together brought members together in a relaxed and welcoming setting, offering a chance to celebrate the festive period while enjoying each other’s company.

Festive Fun and Music

The evening featured a mix of activities, including prize quizzes that encouraged friendly competition. Traditional Christmas carols were sung during the night, adding to the seasonal atmosphere.

A guitar recital by one of the members provided a musical highlight and offered a calm interlude during the celebrations.

Food, Drink and Community Spirit

Guests enjoyed a buffet style spread with homemade cakes, along with wines, beers and soft drinks. The food and drink reflected the generosity and sense of community that sits at the heart of the society.

Throughout 2025, the Oddfellows Society has continued to focus on building connections between members and offering support both within the society and in wider communities. Alongside social events, members have been involved in local, national and international charitable activity.

A Message from the Chair

Speaking towards the end of the evening, Tina English, Provincial Grand Master (Chairman) of the Plymouth and Truro District Oddfellows, said:

“As this evening draws to a close, it is clear that this event has served as another wonderful reminder of our society’s unwavering dedication to making a difference in the lives of others. From supporting community based projects to offering unique benefits to our members, Oddfellows continues to build lasting bonds and create a network of care and kindness that spans across generations. The time honoured motto of our Society, ‘Friendship, Love and Truth,’ remains at the very heart of everything we do.”
