Charged After Corrosive Substance Incident Near Truro

A man has been charged following an alleged incident involving a corrosive substance near Truro last week.

What is alleged to have happened

Ruel Johnson-Rosedom, 22, from London, has been charged with two counts of throwing or casting a corrosive fluid with intent to burn, maim, disfigure or cause grievous bodily harm against two local women. He has also been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The alleged incident took place in Blackwater on the evening of Monday 15th December.

Police have confirmed that the two reported victims did not suffer any life-changing injuries.

Court appearance

Ruel appeared before Bodmin Magistrates’ Court last week, where he was granted court bail.

He is next due to appear at Truro Crown Court on 16th January.
