Volunteer crew from Falmouth Lifeboat were called into action late on Saturday night after concerns were raised about a small boat drifting in Falmouth Harbour.

Call-Out Late on Saturday Night

The inshore lifeboat service took place on Saturday 27th December 2025. Crew members were paged at 10.18pm following reports of a small vessel with one person on board drifting in the harbour.

The Atlantic 85 lifeboat Robina Nixon Chard launched at 10.28pm and made its way towards Prince of Wales Pier, where the Falmouth Coastguard Rescue Team were already on scene.

Casualty Located and Brought Ashore

After a short search using the lifeboat’s powerful spotlights, the vessel was located. The casualty was transferred onto the lifeboat and both were taken to Prince of Wales Pier.

At the pier, the casualty was handed over to the care of the Coastguard team.

Lifeboat Ready Again by Midnight

Following the rescue, the lifeboat returned to the station, where it was prepared for further service by midnight.
