Police Speed Checks Planned Across Devon and Cornwall, 29th December to 4th January

The Devon & Cornwall Police Road Safety Team has issued a reminder for drivers to take extra care on the roads over the festive period, urging people not to drink and drive and to stick to speed limits.

As Christmas celebrations continue, speed detection officers will be active across a wide range of locations in Devon and Cornwall over the coming days.

Where speed checks will be this week

Monday
North Devon, Plymouth, Dartmouth, Totnes

Tuesday
Taw and Torridge, Plymouth, Torquay, Teignmouth

Wednesday
Launceston, Bodmin, Dartmoor, Plymouth

Friday
Truro, Penryn, Wadebridge, Bodmin, Plymouth, Exeter, Crediton

Saturday
Camborne, Helston, Tavistock, Okehampton, Plymouth, A380 and A38 South Devon

Sunday
Plymouth, Dartmoor, Totnes

New speed limit now active on the A38

Drivers are also being advised that the permanent 60mph speed restriction on the A38 between Marsh Mills and the Tamar Bridge is now in force. Police have confirmed that speed detection will begin on this stretch of road in the near future, following a short adjustment period to allow drivers to get used to the new limit.

Motorists travelling across Cornwall and Devon are being encouraged to plan ahead, drive carefully, and remain mindful of changing speed limits during the busy festive period.
