Wednesday 14th January

Frost and fog are expected to gradually clear during the morning, making way for some weak winter sunshine. Cloudy and damp conditions may edge northwards across the eastern parts of the region, while more general rain could reach west Cornwall by this evening. It will feel a little less mild, with temperatures reaching a maximum of 8°C.

Tonight

Showery rain, which may be locally heavy at times, is forecast to spread eastwards through the evening and overnight. Conditions are expected to turn drier for most areas by the morning, with clear spells developing. Southerly winds will become blustery for a time, though it is likely to remain largely frost free. Minimum temperatures are expected to be around 3°C.

Thursday

Rain, heavy at times, is set to spread north across much of the region. Cornwall and parts of west Devon are likely to stay drier and brighter for longer, although some showers may develop later. Maximum temperatures are expected to reach 9°C.

Outlook: Friday to Sunday

Friday and Saturday are expected to bring occasional showers, with some becoming heavy in places. By Sunday, conditions are forecast to be mainly dry, though it may feel grey and murky for many areas, with mist and fog possible. Winds are expected to become light as the weekend progresses.
