The Cinnamon Trust has once again been recognised as one of the World’s Happiest Workplaces, securing global recognition for the second year running.

According to leading employee experience platform WorkL, the Cornwall based national charity ranked among the top 100 Industry Non Profits and placed first out of more than 120,000 organisations worldwide that took part in the survey.

Top of a Global Survey

The results are based entirely on employee feedback, with all Cinnamon Trust staff completing WorkL’s anonymous Happy at Work survey. Employees shared their experiences across key areas including wellbeing, job satisfaction, reward and recognition, information sharing, empowerment and pride in their work.

The Cinnamon Trust scored highly across a wide range of categories, including Best for Women, Most Inclusive, Best for Wellbeing, Most Engaged Employees, Best for Management, Best for Development, Best for 19–24-year-olds, Best for 55+, Best for LGBTQ+ Employees and Happiest Workplace.

What the CEO Said

Patrick Williams, CEO at The Cinnamon Trust, said:

“The team is, without any doubt, truly wonderful. We care for each other well beyond our everyday tasks, and that care shows in both our growth and the impact we’re able to make. We didn’t set out to be ‘the happiest’ workplace. Our intention has always been to build a nurturing environment that genuinely values the people delivering life-changing work. Compassionate and respectful workplaces are not only possible, they’re also effective.”

Staff Share What Makes Them Happy

Team members working across the charity’s headquarters and sanctuaries in South Cornwall and South Devon also shared what they enjoy most about their work.

Kate said: “The team are like my second family.”

Lizzie added: “It’s a lovely place because I build strong and special relationships with the pets that come here that last for a lifetime.”

Holly said: “When I’m on holiday, I can’t wait to get back to see the pets!”

About the Awards

The full list of winners was compiled by WorkL as part of its 2026 awards. More than one million employees completed the Happy at Work test, representing over 120,000 organisations globally.

Lord Mark Price, Founder of WorkL, said:

“I’m delighted that the World’s Happiest Workplaces Awards 2026 List is published today. Organisations who are recognised report higher productivity, lower staff turnover and lower sick leave as a result of employees being happier. Our research shows that nearly 50% of people are unhappy, anxious or depressed at work. It’s our mission to make the world’s workplaces happier and it starts with acknowledging the ones who are doing a great job.”
