Speakers Announced for First TEDxPorthtowan Women Event

Eleven women from Cornwall are preparing to share their ideas and experiences as the speaker line up for the first TEDxPorthtowan Women event is revealed.

The event takes place on International Women’s Day, Sunday 8th March 2026, at Mount Pleasant Eco Park. The theme for the day is Breaking the Mould: Every Generation Empowered.

A First for TEDx in Porthtowan

TEDxPorthtowan Women will bring together speakers covering a wide range of topics including equality, climate, leadership, innovation, women’s health, activism, community and science.

Talks will explore ideas such as telepathic communication with non speaking autistic individuals, reimagining justice through art, and using AI to expose workplace bullying and microaggressions. Other sessions focus on climate leadership without authority, ancient wisdom for a sustainable future, mental health beyond the brain, empowerment through music, and anger as a force for change.

Creating a Platform for Women’s Voices

Anna Lempriere, TEDx license holder, said:

“We had the most incredible response to our call for speakers so we had a huge wealth of inspiration to choose from. Our selected speakers will share compelling stories and ideas that reflect resilience, creativity, and a commitment to shaping a more inclusive, hopeful world.

“Our mission is to create a platform in Cornwall for women from all walks of life and where voices across generations and cultures can be heard, ideas and stories can be shared and collective wisdom can flourish.”

The event is sponsored by Planet A, an organisation working at the forefront of climate change mitigation. Attendees are encouraged to tread lightly and minimise the use of fossil fuels when travelling to the event.
